Tourism: concerns about the reimbursements of PGEs in the hotel and catering industry


Professionals are asking to postpone the deadlines in order to continue investing.

The imminence of the first repayment deadlines for PGEs is causing a wave of concern in tourism. Hotels, restaurants, travel agents, tour operators… All are calling on the government and presidential candidates for help, and asking them to adapt company reimbursements to their capacity. “Help us, says Pierre Louis Roucaries, co-president of the French Union of Event Trades (Unimev). We are not asking for PGEs to be paid for by the state. We have to find solutions to repay them in a different way.”

According to the Union of Hotel Trades and Industries (Umih), 93% of hotels, 50% of restaurants and 35% of cafes have subscribed to a PGE, for a total of 11.5 billion euros.
