Trainer in Germany – Innerhofer is only coached virtually

Trail runner Hans-Peter Innerhofer relies on a new trainer. The instructions from the coach only come via the cell phone. The training had an effect, as the Pinzgauer feels in the form of his life ahead of an exciting year.

Mountain runner Hans-Peter Innerhofer’s winter break is long. Time enough to look for a new trainer. The Pinzgauer and his twin brother Manuel (both LC Oberpinzgau) caught the German Lars Schweizer. “He trains several professionals from Germany and Switzerland – a top man,” says Hans-Peter. Training plans via app “We often had problems on longer distances,” admits “HP”. The trail running trainer should make you forget about this. But Schweizer is not a classic trainer who motivates and encourages the athlete on site. Instructions only come by phone. “We get the training plans via an app. And sometimes we write or talk to him on the phone,” explains Innerhofer. The coach sees the athlete’s data and values ​​via the app and then gives individual instructions. The training, which at first glance seems unusual, shows effect after the first few weeks: “I’m currently in better shape than ever before!” Also because of the Pinzgauer invested more time. “I’m currently working 20 hours a week,” explains the forestry worker, who juggles work and sport well. Hunting for medals in the summer. The 28-year-old wants to maintain top form for as long as possible. There are some major events coming up this year where the Pinzgauer wants to shine. At the beginning of April he ran the longest race of his career with a 69-kilometer run. At the end of May, the trail runner will be chasing medals at the European Mountain Running Championships in Annecy (Fra). He is also hoping for brother Manuel there, who is currently having problems with his Achilles tendon.
