The day after the announcement of the cabinet reshuffle, the Minister of Health François Braun left office. Aurélien Rousseau, former chief of staff of Élisabeth Borne, now takes the post. Avenue de Ségur, emotion was in order this Friday during the transfer of power between the two men.

He succeeds François Braun. Aurélien Rousseau, former chief of staff of Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne, took the post of Minister of Health on Friday morning after the announcement of the government reshuffle on Thursday. A handover just before the exceptional Council of Ministers this Friday, where the emotion was strong.

In particular that of his predecessor François Braun, who warmly thanks the Head of State, whom he describes as a bewitching, exciting man in his speech, and looks back on this past year. “I have often wondered, I still wonder what prompted a provincial emergency physician to embark on this adventure. I am relieved to leave this great administration and this tough task to a man I know, whom I have appreciated for a long time and who knows our ecosystem and the challenges to come perfectly well, “he confides.

A moving speech

To control his emotions. The minister lowers his voice at the end of the speech, misty red eyes, before giving way to his successor, Aurélien Rousseau. The latter greets at length a minister who has moved the lines: “François Braun is a journey, it is the simplicity of contact, of listening and at the same time, it is this absolute determination”.

A touching speech, which will conclude with the exit from the ministry of François Braun, accompanied by his predecessor, to the applause and tears of the members of the cabinet overcome by emotion.
