On the occasion of the release of “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts”, here are five things to know about this seventh blockbuster of the famous robotics saga.
What is it about ? Transformers: Rise of the Beasts returns to the action and the big show that have seduced millions of viewers around the world. This new part takes place in the heart of the 90s and takes us to the four corners of the globe. An all-new faction of Transformers robots – the Maximals – will join the Autobots in their eternal battle against the Decepticons.
Survivor of “Oz” and “Dexter”
Note the presence of Luna Lauren Velez in the skin of the hero’s mother. The actress is best known for playing two major roles: Gloria, a very human nurse in the prison series Oz, and Maria LaGuerta, a career police lieutenant in Dexter (two programs that have other actors in common, like David Zayas and Erik King).
Along with these two outstanding performances, the actress has obtained many secondary roles in cinema and television. Very recently, she lent her voice to one of the characters of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

7th “Transformer” movie
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the seventh Transformers film, following Transformers (2007), Transformers 2: Revenge (2009), Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon (2011), Transformers: Age of Extinction ( 2014), Transformers: The Last Knight (2017) and Bumblebee (2018).
Steven Caple Jr.’s blockbuster is a reboot of the Michael Bay saga and a sequel to Bumblebee (which happened in the 80’s). Inspired by the animated series Animutants, the feature film features the Maximals, Predacons and Terrorcons for the first time. It was also thought of as the first part of a new trilogy.
Size support
Part of the filming took place in Peru between September and November 2022. More than 30 vehicles, including trucks, sports cars, classic cars and motorcycles, were shipped to the south of the country for the needs of the movie.
The support of PROMPERU (an entity for the promotion of exports, tourism and the country’s image) enabled the coordination and the obtaining of filming authorizations.
PROMPERU worked closely with the Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts production team to make sure things ran smoothly at the selected filming locations: Cusco, Tarapoto and the citadel of Machu Picchu, to name but a few. .

Who plays the hero?
After Shia LaBeouf, Mark Wahlberg and Hailee Steinfeld, Anthony Ramos is the hero of this new Transformers film. Note that this young actor took part in another famous franchise via the blockbuster Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters. Next, he will star in Twisters, the sequel to the 1996 cult disaster movie starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton.
A lucrative saga
Transformers reported 708 million dollars worldwide, Transformers 2 836 million, Transformers 3 1,123 billion, Transformers 4 1,104 billion and Transformers 5, down sharply, 602 million. Bumblebee, released in 2018, achieved a relatively decent score at the global box office, garnering 467 million dollars for an estimated budget of 135 million.
Furthermore, the budget for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is estimated at 200 millions of dollars. For comparison, Transformers had cost 150 million dollars, Transformers 2: Revenge 200 million, Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon 195 million, Transformers: Age of Extinction 210 million and Transformers: The Last Knight 217 million.
