Tron 3: Launch

“Tron: Ares” does not currently have a start date. If the writers’ strike ends soon in 2023, filming could begin in autumn/winter 2023. “Tron 3” could then come to cinemas in spring 2025.

Tron 3: plot

In the first “Tron” film from 1982, programmer Kevin Flynn was catapulted into a virtual world by the “Master Control Program” of his work’s main computer. Flynn’s only hope is to find the surveillance program Tron, which is supposed to command MCP unity.

To prevent his search, MPC involves the programmer in various games of life and death. He manages to escape after several tricky situations. The 2010 sequel “Tron: Legacy” takes place almost 30 years after Kevin Flynn’s adventures in “Tron”.

In 1989, the programmer disappeared again, leaving his little son alone. 20 years later, Sam, Kevin’s son, ends up in the computer world like his father. There father and son meet again for the first time in years. At the end of the film, Sam manages to escape from the video game world, but he has to leave his father behind.

What will happen next in the third film in the series is currently unknown. However, a reunion with Quorra and Sam would be conceivable. They fled the world of Tron together, but their story is apparently not over yet.

Tron 3: Cast & Production

Not many roles in “Tron 3” have been cast yet. The main role of Ares will be played by “House of Gucci” star Jared Leto. He is joined by “American Horror Story” actor Evan Peters. Tron 3: Trailer

There is currently no trailer for “Tron 3”. As soon as anything changes, you will find out here.

Tron is back

“Tron” was never the most successful film for Disney, but the sci-fi flick still thrilled a loyal fan base. Almost 30 years later we returned to the virtual world in “Tron: Legacy”. The film wasn’t convincing, but Disney is sticking with the idea. And this could hardly be more current. With the usual futuristic and dystopian images, “Tron: Ares” attempts to project the frightening vision of the future onto our modern times. It can be assumed that this will become much more threatening than it was 40 years ago.
