Dietmar Hamann apologizes to FC Bayern

Statements from Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel about a possible foreign commitment infuriated Dietmar Hamann. The German record champions immediately fight back. But now the TV expert and former national player admits a mistake.
In the dispute with FC Bayern Munich and coach Thomas Tuchel, Dietmar Hamann has apologized. The former national player admitted that he had put statements in the wrong context.
“As part of Sky90, we discussed intensively about the Bundesliga matchday and also about FC Bayern and its previous performances. Before the broadcast, I heard Thomas Tuchel’s statement from the fan festival in the mask. In connection with the report from Xavi’s resignation from FC Barcelona and the current situation at FC Bayern, I found the statement inappropriate,” explained Hamann. “Later in the emotional discussion I referred to this and did not correctly reproduce or misinterpret Thomas Tuchel’s statement. He did not say that he would like to train in Barcelona or Spain. I would like to thank Thomas Tuchel for that and apologize to Bayern.”
Tuchel was criticized for his statements during a fan club visit to Heidenheim about a possible foreign commitment in the future. “Then he sits down and talks about Xavi, about the successor and that he would like to train in Barcelona or Spain. That’s an impudence,” said Hamann on the talk show “Sky90” on Sunday: “He’s a very intelligent one Man, something like that doesn’t just slip out of his mouth. He just has to know one thing: If you’re an employee of FC Bayern, messing with the management – that was rarely a good idea.”
FC Bayern angry with Hamann
FC Bayern had firmly rejected the criticism of its coach. “On Sunday, as part of a fan club visit, our head coach Thomas Tuchel was asked by the supporters about his coaching career and his previous experiences abroad at Paris St. Germain and Chelsea FC and of course he provided information about this during the conversation. He also answered general questions from the fans “Spain as a football country,” the German record champions decided on Monday. “He never spoke about Xavi Hernández and his successor, as was falsely claimed afterwards. After a corresponding question, Tuchel spoke generally about a possible coaching position in other European countries. “Abroad will definitely appeal to me again, in general,” he said. He finds the league in Spain “extraordinary” because it is “characterized by incredible self-confidence”. “When you talk to Spanish players, you have the feeling that you speak to people very quickly and there are no empty phrases and no invisible wall.”
