The Belgian master detective Hercule Poirot (David Suchet) does not even rest between two cases. On the way to London to continue working on a case, the journey on the legendary Orient Express from Istanbul to Calais is less relaxing than expected. His fellow traveler Samuel Ratchett (Toby Jones), who cares about his safety, wants to win Poirot for his protection. Poirot refuses and Ratchett is murdered that same night. Since the train is stuck in a huge snow avalanche and nobody was able to escape unnoticed, the perpetrator must still be on board.
