What was behind the BVB campaign by “TV total” host Sebastian Pufpaff? On Wednesday evening, the moderator cleared up his prank.

Since last Saturday (December 4th) there has been a stir about “TV total” presenter Sebastian Pufpaff (45). As several media have reported, the entertainer is said to have tried an elaborate campaign to get to the top match between Dortmund and Bayern Munich – with the wrong BVB bus and alternative team. In the broadcast on Wednesday evening (December 8, 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben), Pufpaff explained what was behind his prank.

The moderator came up with the idea because he was once told that he looked similar to BVB coach Marco Rose (45). “I even gave an autograph as Marco Rose once before,” he said on “TV total”. After a short makeover, it continued: “I look like the coach now, but I can’t walk into the stadium. What I’m missing is a team bus,” said Pufpaff. “And of course I also need a team.”

After Pufpaff’s bus got the BVB logo and his alternative team got matching outfits, the group drove towards Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund. And indeed: the bus made it through the controls to the team entrance. Meanwhile, fans kept taking photos of the wrong vehicle. In front of the BVB cabin, however, it was over for Pufpaff. One of the security guards recognized the wrong Marco Rose. And that, although fans at the entrance mobbed: “That’s the Rose, you have to let the Rose in here.”

Stadium ban for Sebastian Pufpaff

The action had consequences. Pufpaff only planned the whole thing in order to be able to see the top game live, he explained with a wink: “Now I have a life-long stadium ban.” Finally, he addressed the audience with an appeal, explaining that the BVB and “TV total” logos had the same colors – yellow and black. So he created a new logo from both of them: “What belongs together must grow together.” Fans should now use battle cries such as “We want to see the Pouffe” to advertise the logo in order to lift Pufpaff’s stadium ban. Viewers will see whether this succeeds next Wednesday (December 15, 8:15 pm) in the next edition of “TV total” on ProSieben.
