MP Thomas Portes was strongly criticized by elected officials from the presidential camp and the opposition on Friday for a tweet on Olivier Dussopt, where the Insoumis staged his foot on a ball bearing the image of the Minister of Labor. The National Assembly decided to exclude him for 15 days.
This Friday, February 10, the National Assembly decided to exclude the deputy for 15 days after his contentious tweet. Under the protests of the Insoumis, the deputies voted by a seated-standing vote, after a meeting of the office of the Assembly which had proposed this sanction. This is the most severe disciplinary sanction for MPs. The debates on the pension reform must resume in the evening.
In this tweet, the deputy of Seine-Saint-Denis, Thomas Portes, red down jacket and tricolor scarf, presents himself smiling in the street, his foot on a football bearing the image of Minister Olivier Dussopt. “Minister Olivier Dussopt, withdraw your pension reform,” he wrote. The image sparked a series of outraged reactions in the political class.

At the National Assembly this Friday, while the climate remains tense, Olivier Dussopt did not hesitate to come back to this controversy. “You want what? You want my head like your colleague? You want to continue in the violence, the stigmatization? You also want to pose with my severed head? Your amendments are useless, it is obstruction and your behavior does not serve to nothing” exclaimed the Minister of Labor, responding to an LFI deputy.
