One of the convicts was 13 years old at the time of the crime. The sentence will be announced at a later date. The two perpetrators face life imprisonment.
The defendants had denied the murder charge. The older of the two boys and the girl had admitted homicide in the process. A judgment on the 14-year-old was still pending.
The two perpetrators therefore had “trouble” with the victim, there was initially no more detailed information on the motive. The girl is said to have described any violence against the 13-year-old, whom she led to the park in early January, as “karma”.
The act on January 3 highlighted the widespread knife violence among youth in the UK. Almost every week there are reports of teenagers being stabbed by other teenagers. Drugs or gang crime often play a role in this.
