On the morning of Monday, November 29, two twins, little boys almost six months old, were found dead in their room at the family home in Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine). An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of their death.
The mystery hangs over the death of the two twins. The drama took place on the night of Sunday 28 to Monday 29 November, in the town of Fougères, in Ille-et-Vilaine in Brittany. It is around eight in the morning on Monday when the mother goes to the bedroom of her two young twins, aged almost 6 months. And there the horror. She discovers her two lifeless little boys in their cradles.
The young mother immediately calls for help. Her partner, who is the father of the twins, had already left the family home to go to work at the time of the discovery. Very quickly, the Samu and the firefighters arrive on site and try to resuscitate the two small victims, in vain. The rescuers note their death. According to West France, they would have died overnight.

A mysterious death
For the time being, the cause of death remains totally mysterious, confirms a police source to our colleagues. The technical and scientific police went to the family’s home to carry out research. The Fougeres police commander told Actu.fr : “There is no sign of an external intervention. For the moment, nothing suggests a criminal origin. Only the medical examinations which will be carried out will allow to know more”.
An investigation has been opened, said Rennes public prosecutor Philippe Astruc. The young parents, in their twenties and unknown to the police, have already been heard by investigators as witnesses. As for the bodies of the two babies, they were transported to the Sud hospital in Rennes for further examinations. An autopsy will be performed in the coming days to determine the cause of this tragedy.
