fun, news, tips… what else?

In the Var, this Sunday, February 5, a stroller fell in the port of Cavalaire-sur-Mer. Two 24-month-old children were there… They were narrowly saved.

It’s a story that could have ended very badly in the Var. Sunday February 5, while a mother was walking with her twins in the stroller, the latter escaped her and fell in the port of Cavalaire… Panic invaded the mother but she did not hesitate for a second jumped into the water to save her children. Fortunately for them, a chain of solidarity was naturally set up to help the family.

Two firefighters were on board a boat not far from where the stroller fell with the twins of only 24 months. Automatically they organized themselves to save the babies, because the mother had a lot of trouble keeping the stroller out of the water. One of the firefighters remained at the quay to belay the other who was in the water. A second miracle appeared: two soldiers who were patrolling realized what was happening and came to help pull the twins and mum out of the water.

Harbor water was 14 degrees

The situation could have become dramatic, indeed the water was only 14 degrees but fortunately the babies were not immersed. The stroller didn’t flip over at all, leaving the twins out of the water which was very cold. When they were taken out of the port, they were immediately covered with warm clothes and the mother in shock was taken care of by the firefighters.

This rescue operation is worthy of a miracle, the firefighters and soldiers were present in the right place at the right time, as the soldiers explained to Var Matin: “At the base, we had to go to Le Lavandou before deciding to patrol on the side of Cavalaire” And the rescue actions were done with great speed and method, an officer detailed how firefighters went about saving the babies: “Accustomed to rescue gestures, the two men placed themselves on the quay near the stroller and formed a chain: one on the quay to secure the gestures and the other submerged, in order to recover the babies” Thanks to this chain of solidarity everyone is safe and sound today…
