Two brothers and a friend beat to death their stepfather suspected of abusing their sister

Two brothers living in Texas, and one of their friends, were arrested after beating their stepfather to death on suspicion of sexually abusing their sister.

Three young men from Texas are behind bars. Alejandro Trevino, 18, and Christian Trevino, 17, and their friend Juan Eduardo Melendez, also 18, were arrested last week. They are accused of beating their stepfather Gabriel Quintanilla, 42, to death. The KGRV channel reports that the two brothers attacked the man, “enraged” after discovering that he allegedly sexually abused their sister.

The man, already under the scope of an arrest warrant for having sexually assaulted another child, would have touched his 9-year-old daughter inappropriately this time. The two brothers had a first fight with the victim around their home before being joined by their comrade for a second argument. They then left the scene before returning for a third beating, police said. The suspects then allegedly placed Gabriel Quintanilla in their van and dumped his body in a field in McAllen, where he was found last Thursday.

Juan Eduardo Melendez and Christian Trevino have been charged with capital murder and aggravated assault, police said. Alexandro Trevino has been charged with aggravated assault and participation in organized criminal activity. “This investigation was complex with multiple crime scenes. I am proud of how our detectives were able to put the pieces together in such a short time,” Pharr Police Chief Andy Harvey said in a statement.
