New good deal this weekend for PS5 and PS4 players. Not jealous ! For a few days, one of the biggest releases of 2023 is available for free, as is one of the biggest games of the month.
Playing for free for a weekend has become a bit of a ritual for PC and Xbox players. Almost systematically, with some exceptions, Xbox Game Pass subscribers and Steam users can test recent and old productions for a few days. Games that often emphasize multiplayer, but it sometimes happens that other entirely solo games are also playable for free for a weekend. For PS5 players, it’s trickier. These trials are far from numerous, but this week they will also be entitled to their free weekend games. These are one of the best sellers of 2023 and one of Ubisoft’s famous “AAAA” upcoming ones that are available.
Call of Modern Warfare 3 free on PS5 and PS4 this weekend
PlayStation players are entitled to one of their first free trials of the year. If we generally have to look towards Ubisoft, it is this time Activision which is attempting a large-scale seduction operation on the occasion of the launch of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 season. Considered one of the worst episodes for a long time, the latest iteration of the license received a more than cold reception. The American publisher wants to win back the crowds and invites all players to discover its new features and the improvements made since its release. Until Monday February 12 at 7:00 p.m., COD Modern Warfare 3 can be played for free on PS5 and PS4. However, this only concerns multiplayer modes, the single-player campaign is not accessible with this offer. Online requires, you will therefore need a PS Plus subscription, mandatory to play online on both consoles.
During this free weekend, PS5 and PS4 players will have access to five multi modes and their maps. This includes Rust, Afghan, Shipment, Terminal, Highrise, Meat, Karach and even Rio. Stash House, the new 6v6 map from season 2 of COD Modern Warfare 3, is also available during the event, as is the entire Zombies mode.
Skull & Bones playable for free
The other game playable for free is only available on PS5. This is the famous second “AAAA” from Ubisoft: Skull & Bones. After remaining in port for many years, the title which is originally based on the naval battles of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is preparing to set sail on February 16. Due to postponements and a development that is said to be complicated internally, no one believed in it anymore. So Ubisoft releases the big game before release, letting everyone try it for several days. Until February 12 at 12:01 a.m. French time, you can take part in naval battles on your PS5. The opportunity to discover the fundamentals of gameplay, play a few games and see for yourself whether you want to let it flow or get on board with its proposal.
The open beta of Skull & Bones allows you to play up to the level of Infamy Brigand, i.e. up to level 6 rank 1. In other words, you can play without game limits, discover part of the story and dynamic in-game activities and events without limitation. Especially since once this level is reached, you can still explore its open world. Participating in the beta will also allow you to obtain exclusive rewards that will be unlocked upon release of the game.
