Two injured – bloody knife attacks in Vienna-Floridsdorf

A 48-year-old and a 23-year-old were injured in two knife attacks in Vienna-Floridsdorf late on Tuesday evening and on Wednesday night. The two acts were committed independently of each other, said police spokeswoman Irina Steirer. In both cases there was no danger to life. The perpetrators initially escaped undetected.

The police and professional rescue services were called to an emergency shelter in Meidling late Tuesday evening because a 48-year-old had come to the shelter with severely bleeding wounds on his face. The man was unknown to the supervisors. Attacked at the train station The 48-year-old said to the police that he had been attacked in the area of ​​the Floridsdorf train station by an unknown person with blows and probably a knife. He then got on a subway and drove to Meidling, where he looked for help in the accommodation. The professional rescue service treated the injured man and took him to a hospital. A 23-year-old was also injured by a knife just 20 minutes later on Brünner Straße. He got into a fight with three people he didn’t know and a fight ensued, after which the opponents fled. The young man went home to his girlfriend and only found there that he had a stab wound on his thigh. He called the emergency services and was also taken to a hospital by the professional rescue service. The police asked in both cases for information to each department.
