Two treats – surprise at Sturm’s general meeting!

The Sturm family now includes 13,000 members, and 1,400 came to the general meeting in the Graz sports park on Wednesday evening. Including club legend Mario “Bomber” Haas and Asima Osim, widow of the late coach of the century. Everyone heard positive news from the black club leadership across the board.

This general meeting was historic! In 2020 there were still 334 members entitled to vote who made the pilgrimage to the general meeting, this time 957 of the 1400 in the sports park were entitled to vote. “The general assembly is the high mass of the SK Sturm. “Storm is the sum of all members, we have no investors, no soldiers of fortune – we are independent,” Christian Jauk received the first applause. And the president was proud: “It is the largest general meeting of a sports club in Styria!” The club’s total turnover last season was 44,700,000 euros, a record in the club’s history! The company’s profit was 2,037, 623 euros, and the cup winner’s transfer revenue was 6.3 million, an increase of 470 percent! An average of 14,753 fans come to the Sturm games in Liebenau this season – a new record! When Jauk presented the balance sheet to the Sturm family, applause suddenly erupted in the sports park: the reason: the Sturm team! She came straight from training to the general meeting, all the players dressed up in white shirts and black jackets. What else they heard from the president: That Sturm is the largest organizer in the city of Graz, and even in the whole of Styria over the year. That the club paid taxes and duties of 20.2 million in the previous year. Applause applause! Of course, this was also present in the reports by managing directors Thomas Tebbich and Andreas Schicker. The management duo took Sturm to a new level, both sportily and economically! The black Knofels were happy to hear the club’s positive figures, but the club leadership still had a “treat” in store. Because: The contracts of head coach Christian Ilzer and his entire coaching staff were extended early until 2026! The new training center costs 12.5 million Jauk, who once again campaigned for a Sturm stadium in Liebenau and gave the members plans for a possible renovation or expansion for 19,090 fans, was also able to announce a stage victory. Because the new training center for youth and women in Graz-Puntigam is (finally) on track, the financing (total costs around 12.5 million) is practically in place: the state of Styria has made a verbal commitment to 4.8 million in funding , the city will contribute 50 percent of the property purchase (3.1 million). “There are always hurdles with something like this, but we want to implement this project in the next four years,” said Jauk, whose re-election was of course only a formality. New to the board: the Bad Gleichenberg businessman Jörg Siegel and the Graz ÖVP local councilor Stefan Stücklschweiger . Michael Münzer resigned and will now look after second division candidate Voitsberg, of which he is the boss.
