Eva Longoria’s ex-husband dies at the age of 50
Series actor Tyler Christopher is said to have died in his apartment as a result of a heart condition.

Eva Longoria’s ex-husband died at the age of just 50. Tyler Christopher was an actor himself and was known from series.
The American actor Tyler Christopher is dead. The star of series such as “General Hospital” and “Zeit der Sehnsucht” died unexpectedly on October 31st at the age of just 50. A colleague and friend shared the sad news. Christopher was the first husband of actress Eva Longoria (46).
Colleague devotes touching lines to him
While the “Desperate Housewives” star has not yet commented, Christopher’s former “General Hospital” co-star Maurice Benard (60) confirmed the actor’s death his Instagram page. “It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tyler Christopher,” he wrote, then shared some details: “Tyler passed away this morning at his home in San Diego as a result of a heart condition.” Benard continued in his lengthy statement under a photo of the deceased: “Tyler was a truly talented individual who shined in every scene he performed and enjoyed bringing joy to his loyal fans through his acting. Tyler was one sweet soul and a wonderful friend to all who knew him.”
Benard also noted, “Tyler was an advocate for better mental health and drug treatment who spoke openly about his struggles with bipolar depression and alcohol. We are deeply devastated by the loss of our dear friend and are praying for his children and father.”
From 1996 to 2016, Christopher Nikolas played Cassadine in the legendary medical soap opera in more than 1,000 episodes. From 2018 to 2019, he also had an Emmy-nominated role as Stefan DiMera in “Times of Desire.” In total he was nominated for an Emmy six times.
He was married to Eva Longoria from 2002 to 2004, but the couple had no children. In 2008 he married former ESPN reporter Brienne Pedigo (39), with whom he has two children. The couple divorced in 2021. The actor battled alcohol addiction for a long time and underwent several withdrawal therapies; in 2019 he even had to be placed under the guardianship of his sister.
