Bourdeaux was the holder of the 7th district, but the lines of the district were significantly redrawn by the state Republicans. Parts of McBath District were moved into Bourdeaux District, and McBath District changed from a Democratic to a Republican leaning on the redistricting.
McBath will face a Republican opponent in the November 8 general election.
