Assassin’s Creed Origins was released in 2017 and brought a breath of fresh air to the iconic game series. Four years later, Ubisoft announced that the Egyptian assassin adventure could soon be running at 60 FPS.

Assassin's Creed: Origins

New update for Assassin’s Creed Origins?

The other day, Ubisoft and fans of the assassin cult celebrated Assassin’s Creed Day. To celebrate the day, the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter channel announced that a 60 FPS support for origins could be submitted later.

This doesn’t affect PC gamers, but it does Console gamers should be happy about this news. So far, they had to be content with a frame rate of 30 on the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S.

It is not yet in the dry cloths, because as explained in the tweet, the 60 FPS in Assassin’s Creed Origins must first be checked. How long this will take is uncertain. But the chances are not badthat this feature is actually coming, after all, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey also received 60 FPS support with a next-gen update afterwards. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla also offers a refresh rate of 60 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S.

Only 30 FPS are still possible on the PS4 and Xbox One. So you shouldn’t expect a higher frame rate for Origins on last-gen consoles.

Back to the origin of the assassins

In Origins you travel to ancient Egypt and get to the bottom of the origins of the assassins. The tenth part of the main series is very different from its predecessors and paved a new path for subsequent games. Assassin’s Creed Origins is more role-play and introduces a brand new loot system and skill tree for the series at the time.

Origin offered a huge game world at the time, which is still impressively large four years later. With many main and side missions, you can spend many hours of play in Assassin’s Creed Origins – soon maybe in 60 FPS too.
