UFC: Ciryl Gane-Francis Ngannou, is revenge possible?

Beaten by Francis Ngannou this Sunday at UFC 270, Ciryl Gane recorded her first career defeat. But the French fighter intends to return. With a revenge against the Cameroonian?

The frustration was great for “Bon Gamin” in the halls of the Honda Center in Anaheim (California) a few hours after his setback in his quest for the supreme heavyweight title. The native of La Roche-sur-Yon, who was declared the loser by unanimous decision of the judges at the end of the fifth round, confided his desire to resume training quickly to return to the octagons.

If he was initially sorry to his team and his fans in France, Ciryl Gane said he wanted revenge against Francis Ngannou. “The future is mine. I want revenge”, launched the colt of Fernand Lopez, tactically beaten by the Cameroonian who surprised everyone on the ground.

“Losing, I’ve been there before,” Ngannou first said of Gane. I know he’s a very good fighter, he has the ability to get up. A rematch with Ciryl Gane, I sign of course … if I stay in the UFC.

At 35, the Cameroonian has always confided his desire to get into English boxing. With an incredible punch, it could do some damage. And there are already a few interested boxers, including WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. It remains to be seen what he will do in the coming months when he normally still has a year of contract with the UFC.

In cold weather with the prestigious MMA organization, which he blames for not being paid enough for a champion, Ngannou could decide to leave.

Not to mention that Ciryl Gane can’t ask for a rematch like this. Francis Ngannou has to agree, as well as the bosses of the UFC (Dana White). Especially since there are other heavyweights present. He could notably face other fighters (Stipe Miocic?) before having a new chance.
