UK Home Secretary leaves Government Truss

NJust days after the sacking of her Chancellor of the Exchequer, new British Prime Minister Liz Truss accepted the resignation of her Home Secretary on Wednesday. Suella Braverman justified her move earlier in the evening with a mistake – the sending of a government document via her private email account – for which she wants to take responsibility by resigning.

At the same time, Braverman expressed “concerns about the course of this administration.” So you have “broken promises from the election program”. The British newspaper “Guardian” first reported on their withdrawal from the Truss government on Wednesday.

Braverman, who ran for prime minister herself, is on the right-wing Tories, which also includes Truss. Truss has only been in office since September and is already engaged in a political struggle for survival.

On Wednesday, Truss managed to get some air in her first major appearance in the House of Commons since the sacking of her first Chancellor of the Exchequer, Kwasi Kwarteng. Parrying all attacks from Labor leader Keir Starmer, she said: “I’m a fighter, not a slacker.”
