At a time when the Russian threat persists on its borders, the Ukrainian political class is indulging in the luxury of a new psychodrama, in which Ukraine has a lot to lose, both in terms of internal cohesion and international support. On Monday, a Kiev court requested the imprisonment of former President Petro Poroshenko, or his judicial review against a bail of 31 million euros. Previously, lawsuits for “treason” had been engaged by the prosecution, itself on the orders of the current president, Volodymyr Zelensky. The dispute between Zelensky and Poroshenko dates from the April 2019 election, which saw the victory of the first over the second, with the river score of 73%.
