Ukrainian cereals: the inspection of the cargo ship Razoni is over


Departing from Odessa in the direction of Tripoli in Lebanon, the cargo ship is the symbol of the resumption of cereal exports throughout the world.

The inspection at sea of ​​the freighter Razoni and the first authorized shipment of Ukrainian grain has been completed, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced to the press late Wednesday morning. At the end of this inspection, which lasted a little less than an hour and a half, “the boat will now cross the Bosphorus to Lebanon“, he specified.

The inspection took at the entrance to the Bosphorus. The expert delegations were taken aboard the Sierra Leonean-flagged freighter aboard two shuttles. The cargo ship was to set off again shortly before noon (09:00 GMT) bound for the port of Tripoli, in northern Lebanon, using the Bosphorus to do this, which connects the Black Sea to the Sea of ​​Marmara between the two European shores. and Asian, from Istanbul.

Marmara then opens onto the Mediterranean via the Dardanelles Strait. This cargo of 26,000 tonnes of corn left the port of Odessa (southern Ukraine) on Monday morning is the first authorized under the agreement concluded on July 22 in Istanbul between Russia and Ukraine via mediation by the Turkey and under the aegis of the United Nations. This agreement allows the resumption of shipments to world markets of Ukrainian cereals blocked since the Russian invasion, under international supervision.
