Alexey Pertsev remains in custody for the time being. So an attempt by his lawyer to get the Tornado Cash developer out on bail failed for the time being. A Dutch court ruled on Wednesday August 24 that Pertsev must remain in detention for a further 90 days.
The developer of the Ethereum mixer Tornado Cash is accused of using its software to encourage money laundering. The regime in North Korea in particular is said to have made extensive use of the service to launder stolen cryptocurrency. However, there is no formal indictment yet.
