A few months after their release on PlayStation 5, Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy come back with their compilation, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collectionon PC this Wednesday, September 19, 2022. But then, what is the PC version of the latest adventures of Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer worth?
Test condition: The compilation was tested for about ten hours from a version sent by the publisher, all on a PC equipped with an RTX 3060, an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and 32gb of RAM.
In the shoes of two legendary explorers
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is the compilation bringing together Uncharted 4 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacywhich was released on PlayStation 5 on January 28, 2022 and is coming to PC on October 19.
In fact, for the two back three who have never touched these two magnificent games, it’s time for a little reminder about the history of these two apps. Let’s start with Uncharted 4 which immerses us in the ultimate adventures of Nathan Drake who goes in search of Henry Avery’s treasure pushed by his brother Sam when our good old Nate had retired from treasure hunting.
Then, with regard to Uncharted: The Lost Legacythe latter tells us the adventures of Chloe Frazer shortly after the events ofUncharted 4. The latter teams up with the ruthless Nadine Ross to find a legendary artifact in India, before it falls into the wrong hands.
Go in search of riches on our good old PCs
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection therefore allows those who want to discover, or rediscover, these two adventures on PC, to do so by playing with the best possible version on the market.
Indeed, even if the PC version is only a simple port of the PlayStation 5 version by Iron Galaxy Studios, we still have some small improvements which are not to be neglected for the comfort of the players.
If you’ve ever compiled on Sony’s latest console, you probably won’t feel the graphical slap again since the difference is very minimal with some additional lighting and shading effects. On the other hand, the real advantage of this release on PC, in addition to introducing the game to more people, is obviously the comfort of the controller or keyboard in hand.
As for Spider-Man Remastered, the Dualsense is compatible with all its features, like haptic feedback or adaptive triggers which adds a higher level of immersion if you have the latest Sony controller.
On top of that, the build on PC has 4K like on PS5, as well as an improved frame rate, and it’s compatible with ultrawide displays but unfortunately we didn’t have that during the test.
Unfortunately for Nvidia graphics card owners, the game does not support DLSS technology, but on the other hand, those who have an AMD card will be able to take advantage of AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution 2 technology to boost your little ones even more. FPS while having high definition visual experience.
PC Setup
And finally to finish, Iron Galaxy did a great job optimizing this port for the PC version.. At no time did we experience any FPS drops, controller bugs, or crashes. It’s almost flawless, since we still had some problems with the cutscenes of the two games.
Indeed, it happens regularly on both titles that the characters see their animation bug when doing the famous “T-pose”, in the same way as an NPC on Cyberpunk 2077, in full cutscene. Fortunately, this problem only affects cutscenes, and we hope that a patch will correct the shooting because this problem completely harms immersion.
Once again, Sony has succeeded with this PC port of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collectionand we are impatiently waiting to test the other ports of the Japanese firm, such as Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Spider-Man Miles Morales.
