Fatal accident in the Grubigstein ski area in the Tyrolean Lermoos (Reutte district) on Thursday! For reasons that are still unclear, a Belgian (13) injured herself so badly on a red slope that she remained unconscious. She was found by her ski instructor.
The accident happened around 12 noon. The 13-year-old was part of a ski school group that independently skied down a 200-metre section of the red piste 5a. The ski instructor was the last to ski down the slope. “He came across the teenager who was lying unconscious next to the slope in the meadow,” the executive said. However, the girl sustained serious injuries. She was flown to the Innsbruck clinic in a rescue helicopter. Further investigations follow.
