The Gmail App on Android brings two new features with the latest update bearing version number 2023.11.12. The first is backward predictive navigation without having to enable predictive navigation in the developer options. The other functionality will make it easier to unsubscribe from promotional email senders.
Unsubscribing from emails considered spam is supposed to be relatively easy, since a button in the footer of most automated email lists already allows you to click and confirm that you no longer want to receive emails. emails. But if you’re trying to end a large number of subscriptions, it can quickly become tedious. Google has therefore planned to make this action even easier with a dedicated button, and larger than before.

Google will make it easier to unsubscribe from promotional emails
In the web version of Gmail, you have an “Unsubscribe” option at the top of the email to unsubscribe from almost all promotional emails. Clicking on this sometimes requires you to go to the email sender’s website to unsubscribe. The problem is that this is not the case with the Gmail app on Android.
In the new update of the Gmail app, an unsubscribe button is located to the right of the sender’s address. The latter works in exactly the same way as the web version, and therefore allows you to quickly unsubscribe from emails that you no longer wish to receive. Even better, Google has made it clearly visible by increasing its size, so you can’t miss it.
For the moment, this new button is only present for certain users, and we don’t know when this will be rolled out to everyone. As usual, we will probably have to wait several more weeks before we see it arrive on the stable version of Gmail on Android. In the meantime, Google is already planning another major change: the simplification of sending emails, taking inspiration from WhatsApp.
