Ursula von der Leyen: EU Commission President goes into self-isolation

An employee of Ursula von der Leyen has tested positive for Covid-19. To be on the safe side, she has gone into self-isolation.

The President of the European Union, Ursula von der Leyen (62), has left the EU summit as a precaution and has gone into self-isolation, as she announced on Twitter. "I was just informed that a member of my reception office this morning tested positive for Covid-19," the politician writes.

"I tested negative myself," says Ursula von der Leyen, giving the all-clear. As a precaution, she immediately went into self-isolation. Last week she had declared on Twitterthat she was in contact with someone who also tested positive for the coronavirus. Her test was negative at the time, too, but as a precaution she had gone into isolation.
