US chip sanctions: China counters with WTO complaint

Beijing complains to the World Trade Organization. The chances of success are uncertain, says an expert. In addition, China apparently wants to promote its chip industry with 143 billion dollars.

The World Trade Organization (WTO) on Thursday received a complaint from China against the United States released. In it, Beijing explicitly criticizes Washington’s comprehensive chip restrictions from the beginning of October. Beijing is also concerned about the legal basis of American export controls, a law reformed in 2018. The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced the WTO complaint on Monday.
