US presidential election 2020: Donald Trump is already claiming victory for himself

Not all votes in the US have been counted yet, but Donald Trump has already declared himself the winner of the presidential election.

Who will win the US presidential election: Donald Trump (74) or his challenger Joe Biden (77)? It's a close race. Incumbent Trump appeared in front of the press on election night (local time) in the White House and has already claimed the election victory for himself. However, in several states not all ballot papers – including many postal votes – have been counted. Trump called the delay a "fraud" and announced plans to stop another vote count by the US Supreme Court. "We were about to win this election. Frankly, we won this election."

Twitter marks Trump tweet as "misleading"

Even before his speech, Trump had on his official Twitter account proclaimed a "great" success. But "they" would try to steal the election. "We'll never let them do that." After a few minutes, Twitter tagged the tweet with a note: "Some or all of the content shared in this tweet is controversial and potentially misleading with regard to participating in an election or other civic process."

Joe Biden, however, tweeted that neither he nor Donald Trump could declare themselves the election winner. This is decided by the voters alone. The Democrat encouraged his followers not to lose their faith. "We believe we are on the right track to win this election", so Biden.
