USA: activity relapses in services (ISM)


(CercleFinance.com) – Activity in the American services sector plunged back into contraction territory in April, a first since the end of 2022, according to the results of the monthly survey by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) of purchasing managers.

After 15 consecutive months of growth, the ISM index measuring the evolution of the tertiary sector fell to 49.4 last month, falling below the threshold of 50 points reflecting a decline in activity, compared to 51.4 in March.
