Among the many changes, the President of the Republic announced the total closure of nurseries, schools, colleges and high schools for a period of three weeks, from Saturday April 3, 2021.“The virus is circulating in schools, but no more than elsewhere (…) This is why we must take our responsibilities to curb the virus”, declared the President of the Republic, during his speech, in particular broadcast on France 2. A measure accompanied by confinement applied throughout the territory, providing for travel without certificate within a radius of 10km around the home.

A vaccination schedule

The President of the Republic affirmed that the vaccination plan should experience a considerable acceleration in the coming weeks. While 8.2 million first doses and 2.8 million seconds have been injected in France for the time being, these figures are still insufficient to stem the epidemic. From April 16, people over the age of 60 will be eligible to receive their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Then, May 15th, it will be the turn of people over 50. “A special number will be made available to make an appointment “, assured the President of the Republic. It is only from the month of June that people under 50 will be able to be vaccinated in turn: “From mid-June, the meetings will be open to all French people under the age of 50 “. Finally, Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed his desire to see “by the end of the summer, all French people over 18 who so wish ” to get vaccinated. A vaccination plan that has been designed so that at the start of the school year enough French people have been vaccinated to start the last quarter of 2021 more calmly.
