Johnson had the dose of the Astrazeneca vaccine administered at St. Thomas' Hospital in central London – there, almost a year ago, he had been treated in the intensive care unit for a corona infection several days. The 56-year-old is eligible for the vaccination: Currently, in the UK, everyone over 50 is encouraged to be vaccinated. All adults should receive a vaccination offer by the end of July.

The British government reported a new daily record for Thursday with more than 660,000 doses administered. In total, more than 26.2 million people have now received a first vaccination, around half of all adults. A good 2 million people received the second vaccination necessary for full protection.
