Val Kilmer (60, "Batman Forever") owes his victory over cancer to a very special ex-girlfriend: Cher (73, "Strong Enough"). As the actor says in his new biography "I'm Your Huckleberry" for the first time, he fought throat cancer in her guest house. The two have known each other since the early eighties when they had a quack with each other. When Kilmer fell ill in 2016, Cher offered her ex-boyfriend to stay with her.
In his book Kilmer now describes how the friendship between the two helped him even in the worst of times: "One night I woke up and vomited blood over my bed, it looked like a scene from 'The Godfather'. Cancer-free since 2017
The humor didn't leave either of them when the paramedics started the treatment. Cher was embarrassed for a moment, but then burst out laughing.
