The 2022 presidential election is approaching, but that doesn’t mean politicians aren’t taking a break. A brief overview of the places where the candidates for the election have chosen to spend the holidays.
Even if the 2022 presidential election is approaching – some candidates have already decided that they will not respect the gauge during their meetings despite an ever higher rate of Covid-19 contamination via the Omicron variant – the holidays are celebrated by all. Our colleagues from Parisian are therefore interested in places chosen by the candidates to spend Christmas and the end of year celebrations, and the least we can say is that the result is rather motley. PS side, Anne Hidalgo has not left her city since it is in Paris that she spends her two weeks of vacation in order to work on his program, pointed out by several of his opponents. A little further to the left, the candidate of La France Insoumise Jean-Luc Mélenchon also spent the holidays with his family in Paris.
On the side of the greens, Yannick Jadot allowed himself a good breath of fresh air by finding his Picardy countryside. The candidate of environmentalists went, according to the Parisian, “at his mom’s“in Picardy to regain strength before returning to the campaign in January 2022. The same goes for the Republican candidate Valérie Pécresse who preferred the sea to the mountains. It was in her family residence in La Baule that she spent the holidays without forgetting to devote a little of her time to politics and more particularly to the coming back to Ile-de-France (and elsewhere) which is coming. complicated because of the Covid-19 – which politicians do not escape either.
What does Emmanuel Macron do during the holidays?
As for the President of the Republic, he spent Christmas with his family at Fort Brégançon. “I will celebrate Christmas with my wife, our children and our grandchildren“he explained to RTL. And although he is on leave, Emmanuel Macron may use his free time to reflect on a possible official announcement of his candidacy for the 2022 presidential election. Finally on the far right, Marine Le Pen has joined the Yvelines, and more specifically La Celle-Saint-Cloud to find her three children and celebrate Christmas at home. The holidays are however all relative since the candidate of the National Rally quickly resumed some political meetings in order to resume her campaign.
