Remedy Entertainment continues to juggle projects, between Alan wake 2 planned for 2023, the continuation of Control and his spin off nicknamed Condor Project, or the solo of CrossfireX. And he also has in his boxes a certain Vanguard, a PvE shooter in free-to-play that he has been talking about publicly for several years.
The cooperative multiplayer game is developed with theUnreal Engine and will combine narrative expertise and knowledge in gameplay studio action, and is intended for PCs and consoles. Good news for Remedy, he will partner with the publisher Tencent for its location and distribution on the Asian market, and above all for the co-financing of development. Both parties will however be responsible for their own costs of publishing and operating the game in their respective territories, and will share part of the revenues with the other partner after recovery of development costs. What’s more, Tencent has recovered the rights for the development and the edition of a mobile version, which the Chinese company will finance, while Remedy will get a share of the income.
“Vanguard marks Remedy’s first entry into the games-as-a-service business model, and will be delivered by a leading team of free-to-play experts. We’re building something new and exciting for the co-op multiplayer space, in addition to bringing the strengths of Remedy to it. Expanding our capabilities to take on editing responsibilities is the next step in our business development. We are delighted with this long-term partnership with Tencent and can say with confidence that it is a great way to support Vanguard’s ambitious plans. Vanguard is a global opportunity, and Tencent will be able to support Remedy internationally and lead operations in Asia and mobile markets, ”said Tero Virtala, CEO of Remedy Entertainment.
We can’t wait to see what this project really looks like Vanguard. Until then Control Ultimate Edition and available from € 29.99 on Amazon.com.
