Venice 2023: the most quirky and glamorous photos of the Festival!

A few hours before the Venice Festival winners, discover the best photos from this 80th edition. Despite the strike of actors and screenwriters, stars were able to walk the red carpet, like Adam Driver, whose film Ferrari had an exemption.

Damien Chazelle, director of La La Land, and more recently Babylon (currently available on myCANAL) is the president of the jury for this 80th edition of the Venice Film Festival. In solidarity with the strike, he showed his support for professionals by wearing this T-Shirt in front of the photographers.

Vincent Lindon up close

Vincent Lindon, a player with this photographer on the red carpet of the Mostra, came to present a series: Of Money and Blood. This is the first series directed and co-written by Xavier Giannoli (Lost Illusions), based on the investigative book by Fabrice Arfi.

The project is presented as follows: The scam of the century, which occurred in France and Europe between 2008 and 2009. One of the most notable and enigmatic photos of this edition! Director Harmony Korine, cigar in his mouth, hides behind this (Venetian) mask! The American filmmaker, known in particular for Spring Breakers, showed his latest film, Aggr Dr1ft, presented as an experimental and mind-blowing film, mixing live-action shot with a thermal camera and 3d animations, with, in the cast, Travis Scott among others.

Isabelle in Italy for Sidonie in Japan! The ultra-chic actress in her silver outfit came in front of the photographers to accompany Sidonie to Japan, a new achievement by Elise Girard. During her first trip to Japan, promotional writer Sidonie Perceval sees the ghost of her husband as she experiences a love affair with Kenzo Mizoguchi, her publisher, a mysterious man… The film has not yet French release date.

Long after having presented Friday evening by Claire Denis in Venice, Valérie Lemercier returns for Coup de chance, the new Woody Allen whose release is set for September 27, 2023. Ferrari by Michael Mann brought together Adam Driver, the title role of the film, playing Enzo Ferrari, former racing driver, but also Patrick Dempsey. The latter plays Piero Taruffi. The Grey’s Anatomy star had a field day for the photographers’ flashes. Ferrari by Michael Mann will soon be released on Prime Video.

Director Ava DuVernay took the time to take a few selfies with the audience at the Venice Film Festival. Origin is his new feature film, in competition. This is the very first film directed by an African-American woman to be selected in official competition at the Mostra, indicates The Hollywood Reporter. The film is an adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel: Caste: The Origins of Our Discontent by Isabel Wilkerson.
