The Vergnet group announces the diversification of the photovoltaic activities of its subsidiary in New Caledonia, Vergnet Pacific, which won a project for the implementation of photovoltaic Domestic Hot Water (DHW) production installations. This project was launched by SEM Sud Habitat in Dumbéa as part of the rehabilitation of the DHW production systems of 80 homes.

SEM Sud Habitat is one of three social landlords in New Caledonia, deploying its action in the Greater Nouméa conurbation, in the municipalities of Dumbéa, Mont-Dore, Nouméa and Païta. It manages more than 2,140 housing units spread across 67 residences.

The project, named “Residence KOLOVAI” for 20 housing units and “Residence MAKATEA” for 60 housing units, aims to modernize DHW production systems, reduce the carbon footprint through the use of solar energy and improve the energy efficiency of the residences concerned. Unlike a traditional thermal solar water heater, the system developed specifically with Soléos, a partner of Vergnet Pacific, allows access to hot water at a moderate cost, a comfort not easily accessible for low-income populations since the rising energy prices. Furthermore, the excess electricity produced will be dedicated to self-consumption of electricity.

This first project represents a turnover of 335,000 euros which will contribute from the 4

quarter 2023 to the Group’s revenues.

The construction site of the “KOLOVAI Residence” officially began on September 8, 2023, with the signing of the Service Order for the rehabilitation of 20 housing units. The project, lasting 5 months, should be operational in February 2024.

Similarly, the construction site of the “MAKATEA Residence” began on October 31, 2023, with the signing of the Service Order for the rehabilitation of 60 housing units, and commissioning is scheduled for March 2024.

This first allocation to produce hot water demonstrates Vergnet Pacific’s expertise in photovoltaics and the flexibility of its offer. The implementation of these installations represents an important step towards a more sustainable approach to energy management and energy independence. Vergnet Pacific is determined to ensure the success of these projects and to contribute positively to making access to hot water less expensive while reducing the environmental impact.

The Vergnet group subsidiary is currently working on other calls for tenders in the field of hot water production which should be released in 2024 and is continuing to diversify its activities in the field of photovoltaics in New Caledonia, but also in the Pacific zone.
