VERGNET: VERGNET Wallis and Futuna: the small subsidiary on the rise – 2022/11/07 at 6:20 p.m.

Press release

Vergnet Wallis and Futuna:

the small subsidiary that is growing, growing…

Elms, November 7, 2022

The 3R plan initiated last July is beginning to bear fruit.

Under the impetus of Tamaso POOI, the director of the Asia-Pacific zone, and his teams, the launch of the Vergnet subsidiary in Wallis and Futuna is under the best auspices.

Created a few months ago,

the subsidiary already has several employees, announces a turnover of €500,000 for 2022 and there is no shortage of projects.

These relate to the Group’s various areas of expertise and solutions.

In terms of

photovoltaic solutions

, 3 rooftop power plants connected to the LV grid for self-consumption will be commissioned before the end of the year. Installed in strategic locations in Mata’Utu, the capital of the island, these plants will provide the city with an additional 46,491 Kwh and reduce CO2 emissions by 53,800 kg per year.

A new contract for

3 new plants for an amount of €150,000

has also just been concluded for delivery in 2023.

Finally, the subsidiary is in the process of signing a new project concerning

4 photovoltaic power plants on the ground without storage for an amount of €6.74 million

and for commissioning scheduled for the second half of 2023. This project will create around twenty jobs over a period of several months and for which local companies will be given preference. The realization of certain parts of the site (surveyor, earthworks, fence, civil engineering, roads, electrical engineering, etc.) will be subcontracted by local companies familiar with the territory and its challenges.

Vergnet also works in the commodities market with

solutions relating to electromobility and water desalination.

Indeed, Tamaso POOI will mark a small slice of the island’s history by

importing the very first 100% electric vehicle,

a NISSAN Leaf, with access to its electrical terminal installed at the subsidiary’s headquarters. A widely publicized arrival that opens the era of electromobility in Wallis and Futuna.

Wider,

Vergnet plays a leading role by supporting and advising decision-makers on the network of electrical terminals to be installed on the island, on their maintenance and on the training delivering the VEVH authorization (Electric Vehicle – Hybrid Vehicle)

concerning the maintenance and upkeep of vehicles. As such, two training sessions are already planned for mid-November of this year and in January 2023.

Another subject on which the subsidiary is actively working: a water desalination project currently in feasibility.

All of these different projects attest to the dynamism of Vergnet in this area and the effectiveness of its actions. And the results are there: the subsidiary evaluates a

Turnover between 400 and 500,000€ for 2022.

The outlook for 2023 is even more promising with a

order book estimated to date at €3.5 million for sales of €1.5 million.

To be continued then….
