For Victoria Swarovski, Christmas is “the most wonderful time ever”. This year she is celebrating “with the family in Marbella”.

Victoria Swarovski (28) is drawn to the distance for Christmas. The “Let’s Dance” presenter spends the holidays with the family in Marbella, Spain. “Christmas without snow, but it’s really wonderful there,” she enthuses in an interview with spot on news and talks about her favorite Christmas traditions.

What does Christmas mean to you?

Victoria Swarovski: Christmas is the time for me to really relax. The year is drawing to a close and the whole family comes together for the holidays and the turn of the year. For me the best time ever. No appointments, no trips, just time with my loved ones.

How are you going to spend the Christmas holidays this year?

Swarovski: I’m going to be celebrating with the family in Marbella this year. Christmas without snow, but it’s really beautiful there. We’ll celebrate New Year’s Eve in Kitzbühel.

Many couples don’t give each other anything anymore. What about you and your husband Werner Mürz?

Swarovski: Well, we always give each other something. But we always donate to a good cause. For animal welfare and for children. That is also very important to me personally.

What are your favorite Christmas films – and songs?

Swarovski: At Christmas I definitely always have “Sissi – The Young Empress”, “Kevin – Alone at Home” and “The Grinch” with Jim Carrey. So the classics. As for the songs, definitely Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas”. “Last Christmas” by Wham! Of course, too, even if it gets “a bit” in the meantime.

Which Christmas traditions are particularly close to your heart?

Swarovski: We celebrate Christmas from early in the morning. When decorating trees, we all wear really fancy Christmas sweaters. Each family member even has their own ball with their initials on them. Before we get dressed up for the evening, we’re actually in the kitchen all the time, cooking and baking cookies.

Cookies, Christmas goose and lots of chocolate: do you watch your figure even during the holidays?

Swarovski: Yes, unfortunately. But not exaggerated, especially at Christmas I have a good time to recharge my batteries. But I can’t go completely crazy, I’m generally not a calorie counter now, but I also do a lot of sport to stay in shape.

Which Christmas treats can you not do without?

Swarovski: Definitely not on gingerbread and Lumumba, i.e. hot chocolate with rum, I love that and for me it belongs to it like a lavishly decorated Christmas tree.
