EARLY GENIUS – At only eight years old, Guillaume Bénoliel reached the final of a prestigious international music competition. The 20H of TF1 met the young prodigy.

At eight years old, Guillaume Bénoliel went on to international competitions and high-level performances. Virtuoso when he plays Tchaikovsky, Bach or Debussy, the young boy whom TF1 meets in the 20H report at the top of this article, becomes a child like any other when it comes to running on the grass.

“I love to play the piano, it makes me happy. I am happy. I also love to share music with people”, he says enthusiastically. His talent, this young prodigy from Draveil (Essonne) demonstrated at the beginning of December in Russia, during the international Nutcracker competition for young musicians.
The youngest finalist in the history of the competition
Considered one of the most prestigious competitions in the musical world, this competition was broadcast on Russian television. Accompanied by the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, he was among the top three finalists, which had never happened to a child of his age, under the eyes of a jury made up of the greatest Russian pianists: Elena Bashkirova, George Vatchnadze and Mikhail Voskresenky.
If he doesn’t finish “than” third in the competition, the young Frenchman received many compliments from the jury. “I loved it in the second round when Mikhail Voskresenky said ‘Monsieur Bénoliel pleases me a lot’. I also visited the red square under the snow “, entrusts the young prodigy to TF1.
“Perfect pitch helps a lot”
Guillaume played his first piano note at two, his first score at four and took his first lesson with his teacher at six. His mother, a pianist, and his father, a guitarist, helped him bathe in a musical atmosphere at home.

But Guillaume has the talent of knowing how to associate any sound with a note. “He has what is called perfect pitch. I think it helps a lot for rehearsing, deciphering …”, explains his mother. “It encourages us to accompany him much further, he is very demanding. To be really benevolent towards him”, adds his father. The young prodigy wishes to continue his career. If he has already made a name for himself as far as Russia, he still has a few years to make a name for himself.
