VIDEO – “Pissing off” the unvaccinated: the reaction of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen

Ursula von der Leyen on the same line as Emmanuel Macron. In an interview with LCI (to be followed this Friday at 8 p.m. on channel 26) on the occasion of her visit to Paris for the launch of the French presidency of the European Union, the President of the European Commission reacted to recent Remarks by the Head of State on the unvaccinated. Asked about the term “piss off” and on the pressure exerted on those who still refuse vaccination, it invites in particular to question the responsibility of each one.

“The question that arises is: what is the nature of our responsibility? This is what is essential”, emphasizes Ursula von der Leyen, seeing it as a problem “metaphysical”. “My responsibility is not only my responsibility. It is a collective responsibility. (…) Individual freedom has its limits when it destroys the freedom of another.”

Ursula von der Leyen also returned to the controversy arising from the European flag hanging under the Arc de Triomphe. As President of the European Commission and as a German, she says she saw “a symbol of peace and reconciliation” and ensures the enthusiasm of Europeans. “We, the other 26 of the Union and 450 million inhabitants, were excited about the initiative on the European flag”, she confides.
