The spin-off of the Vikings series landed on Netflix on February 25 to plunge fans back into the world of Ragnar Lothbrok and his descendants. But will they return for a season 2?

The first season of Vikings: Valhalla has just arrived on Netflix this Friday, February 25, 2022 and the news is already good for those who loved discovering the adventures of the descendants of Ragnar Lothbork since the series has already been renewed. So there will be a season 2 for Vikings: Valhallaa season that was announced in 2019. Yes, Netflix had directly ordered 24 episodes of the spin-off from vikings, which means that not only will the series have a season 2, but that it should also have a season 3, at the rate of 8 episodes per season. Season 2 has also already been filmed, which means the series could return by the end of 2022. It is also possible that Netflix will separate the broadcast of the two seasons by a year and offer the sequel in February 2023.
With this new series, Netflix is thus attracting fans of the original Netflix series while seducing series enthusiasts who are particularly addicted to historical stories. The good thing to also know is thatit is not necessary to have seenvikings to start the spin-off Vikings: Valhalla. The new series can be viewed independently since it only introduces new characters and a plot that takes place 100 years after what happened to Ragnar, Lagertha, Bjorn, Ivar and the others. As for those who already know a little about the universe of Michael Hirst, it is a welcome return to a world filled with as much action as passion.
The Saint-Brice Massacre as a starting point
As a reminder, Vikings: Valhalla relates the period in history when the Viking people attacked England after the Saxons killed all the Danes on their lands in what became known as the Massacre of St. Brice. To embody the key characters in this story, the cast is notably composed of Sam Corlett, who plays Leif Erikson, son of Erik the red. Frida Gustavsson plays her sister, Freydis Eriksdotter while Leo Suter plays Harald Sigurdsson, the future king of Norway. They are accompanied by Haukur Johannesson who plays Olaf Haraldsson, as well as Pollyanna McIntosh, who notably made a name for herself on screen thanks to her role as Jadis in The Walking Dead.
