Because of the heavy rain, there have been countless fire brigade operations and alarms in large parts of Styria since Thursday. Heavy thunderstorms moved through Graz again on Friday afternoon. Immense amounts of hail fell mainly in Straden.
The next storm front reached Graz on Friday afternoon. There were heavy showers again in the southern parts of the country. In Bad Radkersburg it was no longer quite as violent as on Thursday, but the strong raging with thunderstorms led to small-scale flooding, especially in Straden and St. Peter am Ottersbach, which demanded the emergency services in many places. But that’s not all: massive hailstorms turned the streets in Schwabau into a “snow track”. The clean-up work is still in progress.
