In March 2013, the romantic comedy 20 years apart was released in cinemas. In this fiction, Virginie Efira embodies the role of Alice, a 38-year-old woman who dreams of becoming the next editor-in-chief of a famous women’s magazine. In order to break her image of a cold and stuck woman, the latter will invent a romance with a much younger man played by Pierre Niney. If the film met with great success with the general public and professionals of the cinema industry, the filming scenes were complex to say the least. Indeed, Pierre Niney and the now 46-year-old actress had never met before, and they had to shoot a sex scene together from the start of production. “We had to forget our modesty”
Niels Schneider’s companion confessed this: “The shooting started with the love scenes, we had to forget our modesty.” In the rest of her interview, Virginie Efira gave more details about this production: “During the sex scene, I died laughing”. For his part, the actor of LOL, who laughs comes out! also shared his feelings about this unique cinematic experience in a video interview for the media Konbini : “I don’t know how they organize themselves in the schedules, but it’s usually at the very beginning of filming, when you don’t know the actress at all. We had a real sex scene in bed, together, and it went on for a day or two max. Very quickly, how much we laughed together, it broke the ice between us“. An embarrassment that was not seen at all on the screen, because a real alchemy operated and the millions of viewers did not realize anything. To date, the feature film 20 years apart is one of the great successes of 2013 and generated 1,400,146 admissions at the French box office.
