Vivendi: Annual profit up in 2023, driven by Canal+, Havas and the acquisition of Lagardère – 03/07/2024 at 7:10 p.m.

Vivendi reported Thursday an annual profit increase in 2023, driven in particular by the acquisition of Lagardère, finalized at the end of the year, as well as the performances of the Canal+ Group and Havas.

In 2023, the group’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITA) amounted to 934 million euros, compared to 868 million euros the previous year.

The group’s turnover stood at 10.51 billion euros in 2023, up 2.6% at constant exchange rates and scope.

“This development reflects the progression of Canal+ Group (+188 million euros) and Havas (+107 million euros), as well as the impact of the consolidation of Lagardère from December 1, 2023 (+670 million euros). ‘euros),” the company said in a statement.

Vivendi did not provide additional information on the proposed split into four separate companies, the feasibility of which the group is still studying.

The chairman of the management board, Arnaud de Puyfontaine, declared during a conference with journalists that he had presented the progress of the split project to the supervisory board on Thursday, as was planned.

Vivendi will propose an ordinary cash dividend of 0.25 euros per share for 2023, stable compared to the previous year.
