(CercleFinance.com) – Arcom (the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority) announces that it has been seized on numerous occasions following several sequences of the program ‘Touche pas à mon poste’ broadcast monthly October 2022 on the C8 channel following the murder of a young girl in Paris.
On the show, the host had repeatedly called for speedy trials and automatic life sentences in such cases.
The Autorité considers that these sequences, by their repetitive nature, reflect ‘a breach by the publisher of the obligation to deal with moderation in a legal case in progress’.
Arcom also finds that the host did not respect the obligation to express different points of view on the air on a controversial subject.
Consequently, Arcom announces that it has given formal notice to the editor of the C8 channel.
