But many technical problems have given rise to embarrassing situations, as reported by Yann Barthès’ program, Daily : besides the sound which was doubled during the opening speech of Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States, a rather embarrassing moment took place during the speech of President Emmanuel Macron. While the French head of state was insisting on the importance of the fight against global warming, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken brutally thanked him, apparently without realizing that the speech of Brigitte Macron’s husband was not finished … but above all, was pre-recorded.
Vladimir Putin taken aback
In a very embarrassing sequence, we were able to hear Emmanuel Macron continue his speech (since it was already recorded), while the camera successively showed Antony Blinken, then Vladimir Poutine, to whom the American Secretary of State wished to give the floor. “Emmanuel Macron speaks in a vacuum, Putin has the floor“, commented journalist Julien Bellver on TMC. While the Russian head of state was on the air, it seemed very disconcerted by this situation, not knowing if he should speak over Emmanuel Macron … or not. Followed a moment of wavering, long, very long, during which the Russian President seemed to doubt that it was his turn to speak and did not drop a word. “We have some technical difficulties“, finally resumed Antony Blinken, who ended up relaunching Emmanuel Macron’s video. The reasons for this broadcasting problem have not been specified.
