Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden, Yoko Taro and her team are already back with a 2nd episode to be released soon!

Last October, Square-Enix was throwing Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars, a RPG taking up the codes of the tabletop role-playing game and using a card system. We have to believe that the publisher’s plans were much broader than expected from the start since another title from this young license was unveiled at the end of last week, for release this month! Her name, Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden, which was introduced through a trailer and of which you can find many visuals on the next page.

The team at the head of the project obviously does not change, so we find Yoko Taro as Creative Director, Yosuke Saito as Executive Producer, Keiichi Okabe as Soundtrack, Kimihiko Fujisaka on character design and Maasa Mimura as director. On the other hand, this time it is Yuki Wada who wrote the script and the voice of the game master this time is that of Mark Atherlay in English and Show Hayami in Japanese. This second part is not a sequel and is therefore intended to be independent, while using the same recipe.

Set on a remote archipelago protected by the Priestesses for generations, this turn-based adventure will take players following the protagonist to save its inhabitants, threatened by destruction. In this moving tale set in a world of melancholy beauty, players will sail the seas with Alva, a young girl who failed to become a Priestess.

Its release is therefore already set for February 17 on PS4, Switch and PC (Steam) in digital format only, once again at the price of 29.99 € in standard edition and 37.99 € for the pack including the game and DLCs related to the saga Deny :

  • Puppet Outfit – An additional design for the outfits of Barren, Laty and Lac;
  • YoRHa Emblem – Replaces the visual on the back of cards with the YoRHa Emblem;
  • 2B Avatar – A 2B inspired avatar for the player, usable on the world map;
  • The Duplicate City Board – A game board and gem box inspired by the Duplicate City;
  • Living Machine Table – A living machine-inspired design for the game board;
  • Resistance Jukebox – Alternative background music honoring the memory of androids who fought to the death to preserve humanity;
  • Pixel Art Bundle: Replaces all character and enemy artwork with pixel art.

Hopefully a physical edition of both games, or more if the publisher still has some in stock, eventually comes out. If you pre-order your copy on theeShop Where Steam, you will receive the Lucky Whale Pattern to apply to the back of the cards and the game board Tiled marine table.

If you enjoy the works of Yoko Taro, the games NieR: Automata and Replicant ver.1.22474487139… are always for sale on Amazon.
