It’s a bit of music that we’re starting to get used to… Due to strong and lasting inflation, i.e. 5.8% over one year in June according to the latest figures published by INSEE on Wednesday, the minimum growth wage (smic) will experience a new automatic revaluation on 1er August and this by 2.01%. This device, enshrined in the labor code, and not to be confused with a boost from the government, ensures that the poorest households are calibrated to the minimum growth wage with the increase in consumer prices. And given the economic situation, the gross hourly rate of the minimum wage, which currently stands at 10.85 euros, will be displayed next month at 11.06 euros. The monthly salary will increase by 33 euros, from 1,645.58 to nearly 1,680 euros gross.
